YANICE ROSENOW — DESC.

In this video, I climb a magnificent tree while vocally reflecting on what it means to be alive. It is shot from a worm’s eye view. As I swing and climb amongst the branches my body starts to resemble the tree branches, arms and legs start to blend into the scenery. The tree’s intricate branches and curtain of leaves far above morph into a complex and mysterious playground for thought. My movement references a child at play, as well as our species' humble beginnings as apes, yet the existential reflections reference timeless philosophical and spiritual thought. This network of affects along with editing decisions lend the artwork a particular sense of transcendence.
